I hate myself

Down to $50. I was up to $232, but then drunkenly decided it was okay to play .25/.50 and .5/1 PLO. Real bad idea. I'm going to hook up a breathalizer to Stars and if I blow over the legal limit, no poker for me.

The Fall Poker Classic is coming up and I am planning on playing in one of the $230 NLHE events. I was going to play in the Limit O8 event too, so I played a few Limit O8 tournies online and absolutly hated it, so I'm going to pass on that one. Hopefully next post has me at over $200, cuz I'm going to play a $4.40.

$149.97

Sooooo close to $150. I have increased my Stars account 100x since the start of this blog. Pretty good I think.

Something tells me you don't get paid this easily at 1/2 PLO...

Bottom sets are bad in PLO, so here I stack a guy who had one...

Whether its a flush draw or boat outs, it is important to have re-draws...

I'm not sure about three barreling in PLO, but this looked like a good turn and river to try it...

Looking back I probably should have bet the turn but given what he had I probably saved money...

%45 to win on the flop and %42 to win on the turn. Is this supposed to be a flop shove?

My sister told me about this website http://www.pandora.com/. It's really cool you can type in any artist or song and it will make a radio station filled with music similar to your entry. I truly appreciate good music, in every genre from jam bands, punk, rap and hip-hop, metal, blugrass and folk......pretty much everything.

One group I love is the Trans Siberian Orcastra. If you have never heard them you should. I have seen them live 3 times and they put on one of the best shows you will ever see.

O Fortuna...

I tried to find a good video of this song but I couldn't find one with good quality. This is most definitely my favorite song from them, and live it is in-fucking-credible...

Good luck everyone, hope you are all +EV in life!

3 Digits

I have broken the $100 mark from my original $1.50. I was as high as $124 but right now my roll is at $116, up from $84. Most, if not all, of the winnings have come from NL Omaha hi/lo sng's. Though I am still playing the .01/.02 PLO, I just dont see why since I am making so much more playing sng's.

The thing is, I still have trouble grinding out over 1500 hands in cash games on a day to day basis. Plus with the swings in PLO tilts me still. It just makes more sense to grind the SNG's till I can play higher PLO. Also, I dont think there are many higher buy-in sng's for Omaha 8, so I think I'll be playing the sng's until I can play .05/.10 PLO regularly.

I think I'll start posting a little bit about myself. It may be a little dorky but I love to watch TV shows/movies. But with my schedule, I'm usually working when the good shows are on. This makes netflix and watching shows online essential. I've had netflix for about a year now and love it. I have been able to go through entire shows like The Sopranos, The West Wing, Dexter, Deadwood, Weeds....and countless others. The shows on HBO and Showtime are some of the best I have ever seen. Though how can you not like Heroes too?

I'll start posting hands sometime.

Ah low, ha

Well hi! It's been a while since I've had an update for the zero people who read my blog. Someday maybe I'll get a reader(fingers crossed). The last few days have been fun. partying at home, having fun at work, and poker has been okay. Last you heard my roll was at $84. And it still is, haha. I was down to about $70 or so, and up as high as $99. I can't wait till I break that $200 mark and start playing higher regularly. The good thing is I have not played any cash game higher than .01/.02, or and tourny with a buy in higher than $3. I'm pretty proud of myself about that one.

One thing I want to do with this blog is post hands and graphs of my play. The thing is I don't use PT or any other software with my game. I do save my HH's but I am not willing to look for the hands through there. So hopefully soon I start using some of those fancy tools and make this blog a helluva lot more interesting to read.

Lemme look for at least one hand quick here......okay, here is one from a NL Omaha hi/lo SNG. I get all in 3 handed with the nut flush draw and 2nd nut low draw and hit gin on the turn. Most importantly fade all boat draws and scoop de doop for me!

Self-control

I have absolutly none of it. The last few days have been a roller coaster. I have played maybe 2000 hands, with the first 1500 being break even, and losing $20 in the last 500. That's 10 buy ins for me at .01/.02 PLO. I know I said I was going to stop after losing $10 in a session, but I have this problem where I always chase my losses right away. So after feeling pretty shitty about losing that much, I found one of my donkies playing .10/.25 PLO and took the seat to his right. On the 4th hand in I won a $70 pot and left. I seem to run much better at the "higher" stakes rather than .01/.02.

So right now my roll is at $84. I really need to learn to not play out of my roll and quit when losing. I'm going to put in a short session right now, I'll come back and let ya know how it goes.

yuck....

Sat down at a few tables after writing my last entry. I was quickly up about $5, then this happened...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3027380

Nothing like getting the money in as a %73 favorite and getting out ran for a $12 pot at .01/.02.

I quit soon after this, down $4. Roll at $69.

Grindin'

One thing that I have always had problems with online is logging 1000+ hands in a session. The most tables of 6-max that I can handle is 5, and after sitting and staring at the screen for a couple hours I start to get a little loopy. So I have decided to put some limitations on how long my sessions are going to be. I will stop playing if I:

-win $15

-lose $10

-reach 1000 hands

-or if I just dont feel like playing anymore

I know it takes many hands at a limit to see how well you are actually doing in the long run, but my sanity comes first, so I'll just play for pennies for a while longer.

I am up to $73 from my last post. I played a couple of sessions after my post on Thursday and after about 1500 hands at .01/.02 PLO, I was down about $12. Losing online has always tilted me more online than live, even if its only for a $4 pot. I'll yell at the screen, immediatly look at the HH and go run the numbers to see how bad they play, and start getting a little too aggro at the other tables, and tilt off a buyin maybe. On the other hand I was playing a live $1/$2 NLHE game in Iowa about a month ago and got my KK out ran by AK all in on a flop of 10 K x. That was for about a $350 pot, and I very easily said nice hand, and calmly left the table to go donk and some BJ.

Anyhow, I was dwn about $12 and just had to go chase my loss by playing .10/.25 PLO. Within 20 hands, I was racing with someone for a $30 pot, and won. Obv I quit right away after making only $3 after 1500+ hands, but I'm going to have to get used to that and also get used having losing sessions. Esspecially playing PLO.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3026946

Looking back this was a bad play because if I'm getting action on the flop, I'm probably crushed. I was lucky enough to be about %47 to win, but lost the race.

Fin must have been steaming because these next 2 hands happened back to back.

First blog ever

I know that the title is a little cliche, but I think it also clearly states what the blog is going to be about. I have never blogged anything, ever, before today so we'll see how this goes. A little about me I suppose. I am 22 years old and deal blackjack for my paychecks. I graduated high school in 2004 and did one year of college at St. Cloud State University here in Minnesota. My first experiances with poker are playing with friends in high school, never for more than $50, usually .5/.10 NLHE.

Once I started at SCSU it was Sng's only. At first we didn't play that much but by the end of the year we were playing $10 SNG's for 6 hours a night Sun-Thurs. Poker is probably the number one reason why I didn't study and eventually had to leave school. It was also in college when I first started playing online at Ultimate Bet and Party Poker. Only playing Sng's and MTT's on either site. I am one of those people that will deposit, start winning, then play out of my roll and lose it all. I have repeated that cycle many times and feel I am getting the hang of it pretty good. But it also the one thing I never want to do again.

During my time playing I have grown to love all forms of the game, either live or online, cash or tourny, hold 'em or omaha. Most of my hold 'em experiance is live LHE between 3/6 and 6/12 at Canterbury here in MN. I can still remember my first time there at 12:01 am on my 18th b-day, and being nervous as hell playing 2/4 LHE against the 'pros' I was facing. I won $11 after 3 hours of play and couldn't have felt better. Since then I played every limit they offer up to 15/30 and enjoyed just about all of my time there. For my NLHE after high school, I have only played 10 hours of cash game at St. Croix in WI, but many many MTT's at casino's and home games. I have never had a huge cash but have done pretty good in tournies, but usually blew it all being a degenerate playing to high or blackjack. My first time playing omaha was on UB and I would play play money O8 Sng's. My first time playing O8 for real money was the 4/8 O8 game at Canterbury in 2005. My first night I won $300 and was on top of the world. Since then I have being playing more PLO instead of O8.

Lately I haven't been playing much at all, just $50 here and there online, usually losing it within a few days. A few days ago I got onto my pokerstars account and had $1.50 left, so I started playing .01/.02 PLO 6max. 3 days later my roll is at $45 from that $1.50. This is usually the point where I will play too high and lose it all, but I am going to have to restrain myself and try to grind my way up. Right now my plan is to keep playing .01/.02 PLO with the occasional micro buy in MTT until I have a $200 roll, then move up to .02/.05. I know, big money right? Haha, I really do love this game and hope I can start being a winning player, as I know my biggest problem is bankroll managment. I hope this blog helps me with that, as i know I'll probably be the only one viewing this.
